The world says power is taking what you deserve. Jesus says true power is giving it up. In the ancient Greek world the word meek was used to describe a powerful wild horse that had been broken to serve its master. Not a weak horse. A powerful horse whose strength had been brought under control to serve a purpose greater than its own. That's what Jesus means when he says blessed are the meek. Meekness is not weakness.
