In this youtube short we discuss what it means that God adopted us.
Did you know that Christians are considered children of God? What that means is we have been adopted into God's family. When Jesus died on the cross and people believe and place their faith on him, all sins are forgiven. You go from being an enemy of God to being an adopted child of God. And adoption is one of the most important theological concepts that we understand because it is the way in which the Christian lives their life.
As we go out into the world, we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit in which God himself is manifesting himself to the world around. People will notice something is different because as children of God, we manifest his attributes and we get to point up. I am a child of my father and this is who he is. So being adopted children allows us to just give a walking testimony to who our dad is.
Paul even says in Romans 8:17, the spirit which cries out, aba, father. And you know what else is so powerful about being adopted? It means we have an inheritance that's waiting for us. That God is not holding back any good things from us. That he's blessing us as his children. That he's disciplining us as his children. And that he loves us as his children. So, as you go out into the world today, if you've placed your faith in Jesus, know that you are a child of the living
