One of my favorite things to do at night is to go for a walk. Looking up at the sky, seeing hundreds of stars just overwhelms me and reminds me how big God is. It always makes me think of Psalm 8, which says, "When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him?"
This psalm just puts me in total awe of creation. And I often read this as I walk. It reminds me how small I am, andhow vast and powerful the God who created the universe truly is. And the same God who created the heavens and the earth, all of the millions of stars, wanted you. Scripture tells us that God chose us as his own possession, his own precious treasure.
The very God who by the breath of his mouth spoke in all of the stars came into being and he chose you as his child redeemed by the blood of Christ. And as Christians we should make a big deal about creation about what our father has made. All of creation sings his praise just by existing. So we must join in with creation. It was created to worship him and so are we.
So today, before the burdens of day-to-day activities overwhelm you, take a minute just to remember how big God is. Go outside. And if it's night time, go on a walk and pray and sing praises to God as you look up at the sky and remember how big of a God we serve. If it's daytime, go outside and listen to the birds as they sing God praises. Or go out into the woods and just see the beauty in his creation because scripture tells us his eternal power and divine nature are clearly seen in everything he's made. And remember that same God who created everything loves you and cares about you.
