Hello. Today we're going to be looking at a quick and easy way of how to read the Bible. So, the first thing I like to do is divide my page into three sections. 1 2 3. In the first section here, this is where you read scripture. I recommend you do it in three translations such as ESV, New Living Translation, or NASB. You can even write out word for word the passage of scripture that you're reading in one of the translations.
In the second column here, you're going to paraphrase what you read. That just means put it in your own words because you don't understand a section of scripture until you can tell it in terms that make sense to you and to anybody else. And then here in the last column, you want to write out the word speck. This is an acronym that helps you analyze the scripture in more detail.
The S is, is there a sin to be confessed? The P is, is there a prayer, praise, or promise? The E is, is there an example to be followed? Or avoided. The C is, is there a command to be obeyed? And lastly, is there knowledge God wants us to have? The most important part of reading the Bible happens before you ever write a word. You have to pray.
Ask God to open your eyes. Whenever you get to a section of scripture that you don't understand, you pray for understanding. And then lastly, you pray and thank God for what he has shown you. And this is a simple quick way to get into scripture. Thank you all.
