John 13Jesus Washes The Disciples Feet - Day 4 of Passion Week Easter 2026

Published · 3 min video

The disciples were arguing about who among them was the greatest. And Jesus — knowing the crucifixion was hours away — got up from the table, took off his outer garment, wrapped a towel around his waist, and began to wash their feet. In Jewish culture a follower of a Rabbi was not even expected to wash his teacher's feet. And the King of Kings got on his knees. Peter said Lord you will never wash my feet. Jesus said if I don't wash you you have no part with me. And Peter said then not just my feet but my hands and my head also. Centuries earlier in Ezekiel 36 God promised I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. Jesus washing the disciples feet is that promise being enacted in real time. He knew Judas was about to betray him. He knew Peter was about to deny him. He knew they were all about to abandon him. And he washed their feet anyway. Having loved his own who were in the world he loved them to the end. Day 4 of a daily Passion Week series. New video every day through Easter Sunday.
