If you were dying of thirst, would you drink this? It's clean. It quenches your thirst. But what if I told you I put one drop of arsenic in this water? Just one drop. It still looks like pure water. But would you drink it? Of course not. Because one drop of poison changes what you're drinking. That's essentially what the Apostle Paul is warning about in Galatians. People were saying, "Believe in Jesus and be circumcised to truly be saved."

Paul's response, that's not just a modified gospel. That's a poisoned gospel. Salvation isn't 99% Jesus in 1% my effort. It's 100% his finished work on the cross. Good works flow from salvation, but they never earn it. Don't drink a counterfeit gospel. Trust in Jesus alone.
