Righteousness. I'm sure you've heard this word before, but can you define it without using the word good? Today on Christianes, we break down a popular Christian word and simply say what it means. Now, for righteousness, think of Abraham. Genesis says Abraham hoped against hope and it was credited to him as righteousness. Abraham believed God. Now, Abraham wasn't perfect, but because he trusted a perfect God and what God promised, God declared him as acceptable.
And for us, it works the same way. Righteousness isn't something you earn by being a good person. It's a gift when you trust Jesus who fulfills the exact promise God originally made to Abraham. So remember, a right condition leads to right conduct. You don't do good things to be accepted. You do good things because you already are. Leave a comment below.
