Why Jesus Rode A Donkey — Day 1 Of Passion Week (Easter 2026)
Two thousand years ago today Jesus rode into Jerusalem. Not on a war horse. Not with an army. On a donkey. Five hundred years earlier the prophet Zechariah said your King is coming to you — righteous and victorious — humble and riding on a donkey. On exactly the right day in exactly the right city on exactly the right colt Jesus fulfilled every word of it. The crowd was crying blessed is the King. The same crowd would be crying crucify him in four days. And Jesus knowing all of this crested the Mount of Olives saw Jerusalem blazing in the noon sun and wept. Not for himself. But because they did not know the time of their visitation. He didn't come as a conqueror. He came as a peacemaker on a donkey's colt. He came to die so you wouldn't have to.
